Cracked heels and other feet issues such as dry feet are caused due to lack of moisture, improper foot care, an unhealthy diet, aging, prolonged standing on hard floors, wearing the wrong types of footwear or due to other health conditions. Dry feet can range in severity from mild, temporary dry skin to severe dry skin that can lead to other related health issues.

Natural Remedies for Dry Feet Problems

Lemon Juice

Soak your feet in lemon juice for approximately 10 minutes. Lemon juice is a mild acid that helps to dissolve dead and dry skin for easy removal. Use a loofah or soft foot brush to scrub your feet after you’re done soaking them.

Oil Mix

Combine a spoonful of olive oil and a few drops of lemon or lavender oil to create a moisturizing cracked-heel cream. Shake the ingredients until they form a thick, milky solution and use when needed. Shake well before each use.

Coconut Oil

Full of nutrients and healthy fatty acids, coconut oil soaks in fast and provides deep and lasting moisture.  As an added benefit, fatty acids in coconut oil also have anti-microbial properties which can further soothe irritation caused by infection in cracked heels.  Apply cold-pressed or wet-milled coconut oil to dry and damaged areas and let it soak in overnight.

Honey

This treatment for cracked heels is one of the most popular, due to its effectiveness and ability to promote soft and healthy skin. Honey can provide your feet with moisturizing benefits as well as antibacterial properties. Mix a few tablespoons of honey with a small bucket of warm water. After stirring the water and making sure the honey is completely dissolved, immerse your feet into the bucket. Let your feet soak in the mixture for about 20 minutes. Gently pat them dry.
